Varsity Volleyball losses to a tough Canton Prep team.

Dragons Lose: 0 - 3
Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball had a hard loss on Tuesday against Canton Prep High School. Unfortunately, the team made multiple errors that cost them the match. Summit Academy struggled to gain momentum or much offense against a tough-serving team. Summit Academy plans to re-group at practice tomorrow and focus up for Thursday’s competition. Even though there were many mistakes made throughout the game, there were some positives to take away from the competition. Sydney Roberts had great offensive hitting game, and lead the Dragons in kills. Kayla Ratchford and Aajanae Biles’ hard work and willingness to lay out for tough balls kept them on the court the entire three sets on the court.

Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball fell short at their games at Jefferson High School on Monday. Jefferson proved to be a very tough competitor. The Dragons struggled a lot with serve receive and being able to generate much offense. The Dragons had a strong first set as reflected by the score, but ultimately could not pull through to get a win. The girls are looking to bounce back tomorrow with a win against Canton Prep Academy.

Dragons Win: 3 - 0
Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball came away with a great CSC win today. In all three sets, the team worked together and dominated together. Despite a rocky start to the first set, they were continuously up by a large amount of points. They continued to stay focused and kept their determination, hard work and spirit up. They especially excelled while serving. In the first set, Aj Walker served 16 in a row to put the game out of reach for HFC. The second set, Kiera Watson served 11 in a row to put Summit far in front. All together, the team worked hard and walked away with a great win. This leaves the Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball team still undefeated within the CSC.

Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball had an outstanding performance today against opponent Cornerstone University. They battled hard against a tough team. There were a lot of back and forth plays that Summit came out on top of.  The first two sets were close wins, causing Summit to be on top of their game. The team was lead by a strong performance from the starting line up. Kaylee Watkins battled through an injury from yesterday and was at the top of her game. Her serves ultimately put the third set out of reach for Cornerstone University. Overall, it was a great performance by Summit Academy Volleyball.

Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball had a tough loss against Canton Prep Academy tonight. They had a few setbacks during the first two sets that ultimately led to them falling short. On a positive note, although they lost the third set, they came back far stronger than before and worked as a team to come close to taking Canton Prep to a fourth set. Summit Academy is looking forward to the next time they meet Canton Prep in order to redeem themselves.

Dragons Win: 3 - 0
Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball got off to a shaky start during tonight’s match against Detroit Community High School. Similar to their last game, they had a come-from-behind win during the first set. This was done through teamwork yet led by Aj Walker as she went on serving run, scoring 7 points to capture the game. They came back strong in the second set to go up two games to none. Detroit Community High came back stronger in the third set but it was not enough to defeat the Dragons. Summit Academy had their ups and downs throughout the contest but ultimately prevailed to move their record to 3-1 overall, and 2-0 in the conference.

Dragons Win: 3 - 0
Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball battled hard against University High School. It was a back and forth game but Summit Academy ended up on top. In the first and third set, Summit played in a come-back fashion with great serving from Aajanae Biles, AJ Walker and Kiera Watson. The second set was back and forth all game with Summit ultimately winning by 6 points. Aajanae Biles and Kayla Ratchford had multiple saves that helped lead the team to victory.

Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball struggled at their game on Thursday night. Everest Collegiate Academy (ECA) proved to be a really tough opponent. Summit Academy struggled heavily with their mental game which effected their physical play. The team started off with their strongest set first, but then fizzled off in sets two and three. Despite a tough loss, there were many great plays made by the team. We’re going to continue to work on small things to come back stronger when we play them the next time around.

Summit Academy Varsity Volleyball played outstanding at their home opener on Tuesday. They started off the first set strong, winning 25-10. Henry Ford Academy (HFA) came back stronger in both the second and third set, however, Summit prevailed. Ajanae Biles lead Summit Academy on the court especially with her serving. She went on a run with 9 serves in a row, ultimately putting the game out of reach for HFA.
